One name will officially be on the ballot for Prince Albert’s Ward 5 in November.

Stephen Ring has announced his intention to run for the seat that is currently held by Dennis Ogrodnick. Ogrodnick is not running again.

Ring said he was born and raised in Prince Albert and has lived in Ward 5 for 50 years.

He is the owner and operator of Ring Appraisals, a real estate and consulting service for 35 years.

He and his wife Cheryl have two adult children and two grandchildren, all of whom call the city home.

“I have volunteered for many community events over the years in whatever capacity I could be of help. I have been an avid volunteer with the Prince Albert Raiders over the past 20 years and remain actively involved with the team,” Ring said.

He is running on core principles of honesty and integrity and says he will work hard and make his decisions based on the best interest of the residents.

Ring pointed to his history working with property evaluations as evidence of his commitment to development.
