Hawks conclude southern road trip with loss in Weyburn
The Nipawin Hawks picked up one win in three games over the weekend on a three-game road trip through southern Saskatchewan.
After picking up their first win of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season Friday in Estevan, Nipawin dropped a 6-2 decision in Weyburn against the Red Wings.
In the finale of the three-day trip that started Thursday in Notre Dame, the Hawks got down early by the score of 2-0 in the first period. Captain Finley Radloff cut the lead to 2-1 with his second goal of the year.
Weyburn widened the lead to 3-1 early in the second period, but Mason Karakochuk got Nipawin back to within one before the middle period concluded.
