Man charged with attempted murder after afternoon shooting

Battlefords RCMP have charged one man with two counts of attempted murder after a shooting at a home in North Battleford last Thursday.

Officers were dispatched around 4:15 p.m. Oct. 3 to reports of a shooting on the 1400 block of 109th Street. There, they located two men with serious gunshot injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

Two men and a woman were arrested near the scene.

Police say Adrian Dreaver, 21, from North Battleford was charged with two counts of attempted murder, one count of possessing a firearm, ammunition while prohibited, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm while knowing the possession was unauthorized.

The other man and woman who were initially arrested were released without charges.

Dreaver appeared in court this morning. The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the Battlefords RCMP Municipal General Investigative Section.
