NBCHS Vikings hope for finals run with playoffs just around the corner
After winning the North Saskatchewan 5A Football League last season, the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings are looking forward to the playoffs as they play their final game of the regular season tomorrow against Martensville.
The Vikings are currently tied for 2nd place in the league with Martensville and hold a 2-1 record. The winner of tomorrow’s game will get home field advantage for the league semi-final, where Martensville and NBCHS will play each other again. The winner of the semi-final will go on to play in the finals against the winner between PA Carlton and the #4 ranked team, with the assumption that it will be PA Carlton.
Head Coach of Vikings, Shaun Webster is expecting a good match-up against Martensville but is also confident in his team.
“We play Martensville this week and we match up quite well. We are a physical team where Martinville is more of a skill-based team. But with everything kind of coming together as a team, we are fixing all the little things that we need to fix and we’ve never lost to Martensville before, so we are hoping to do well when we face them.”
