Updates on The Battlefords’ municipal election candidates

The nomination period for The Battlefords’ municipal election ended yesterday, and according to the city and town offices, 16 and 10 people are looking for election on Nov. 13.

The City of North Battleford has three mayoral candidates, including

Current city councillor Kelli Hawtin
Former Little Pine First Nation Chief Wayne Baptiste (Semagansis)
Former Battleford Chamber of Commerce president Terry Caldwell

Furthermore, 13 candidates are fighting for the six seats in the city council, including

For the town of Battleford, since there is no other candidate for the Mayoral candidacy,

Ames Leslie, the current mayor, is acclaimed to continue the following term.
