Updates on The Battlefords’ municipal election candidates

The nomination period for The Battlefords’ municipal election ended yesterday, and according to the city and town offices, 16 and 10 people are looking for election on Nov. 13.

The City of North Battleford has three mayoral candidates, including

Furthermore, 13 candidates are fighting for the six seats in the city council, including

  • Gregory (Greg) Lightfoot (incumbent)
  • Kent Lindgren (incumbent)
  • Ross Macangus (incumbent)

  • Donald Meriam
  • Dan Suberlak
  • Alan Wiese
  • Darryl Williams
  • Warren Williams

The top six candidates with the most votes get elected.

For the town of Battleford, since there is no other candidate for the Mayoral candidacy,

Ames Leslie, the current mayor, is acclaimed to continue the following term.

In addition, 9 candidates are running for the six seats in the town council, including

  • Doug Laing (incumbent)
