City council candidate focuses on North Battleford’s image
Knowing that the younger generations are stepping back from North Battleford, Dennis Mercer was fueled to help the city become a promising place for youngsters in this city council run.
“I believe it can be done to really enhance the image of North Battleford and its desirability,” said Mercer.
During a conversation with his son about plans after graduation, his son shared that none of his classmates wanted to move to North Battleford to start their careers, which sparked his motivation to take action, as he had always viewed the city as a great place to ‘sink roots in.’
Mercer has dedicated the past two decades to teaching Christian ethics at John Paul II Collegiate. He also served as the chairperson for the Teachers of Religion and Christian Ethics. Additionally, he is an executive at the Battleford Sailing Club. Throughout his career, he has coached numerous sports teams and facilitated various school clubs.
