The Melfort Mustangs hope to build on a big win on home ice as they play a pair of games on the weekend.

The Mustangs beat the Flin Flon Bombers 4-1 at the Northern Lights Palace a night after falling 6-3 in Flin Flon.

Reilly Kotai, Logan Belton, Jake Giacobbo, and Kaleb Binner scored for Melfort, while Kristian Coombs made 29 saves in the win.

Melfort will host the Kindersley Klippers Friday night at the Palace for Farmer Appreciation Night.

A presentation to thank the team’s farming project sponsors will take place prior to puck drop.

The club will be unveiling their Nutrien third jerseys for the season, while Canterra Seeds will be at the game with the Canterra Seeds Cup and t-shirts for farmers as they host Farmers Night Out.

Melfort will then travel to Nipawin on Saturday to face the arch-rival Hawks for the first time this season.

The Mustangs currently lead the Sherwood Division with a 6-2 record.
