Suspect wanted by policing following forcible confinement

UPDATE: Police announced that Singer was found at a home in the community on Sunday and arrested. He made his first court appearance on Monday, Nov. 18.

RCMP from the Pierceland detachment are looking to find 42-year-old Lorne Singer from Big Island Lake Cree Territory after a woman was assaulted and confined at a home in the community.

Singer is charged with forcible confinement, break and enter, assault with a weapon, criminal harassment, uttering a threat and multiple gun related charges.

He has not been arrested and police are looking for public help locating him.

Officers were called to home on Big Island Lake Cree Territory at 1:15 on Tuesday after a woman reported the assault.

She was able to get away and get help and reported non-life-threatening injuries to the responding officers.

Singer and the victim know each other.

Later the same day as the assault, officers searched a home in the community, finding a gun, a machete and a baton.

A warrant has been issued for Lorne Singer’s arrest and Pierceland RCMP continue to work to locate him. They are asking members of the public to report all sightings and information about his whereabouts.

Lorne Singer is described as approximately 6’0” tall and 150 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. A photo of him is attached.

Pierceland RCMP continue to investigate.
