Driver in hospital after car ends up in swamp

Nov 15, 2024 | 9:21 AM

The driver of an SUV that ended up in a swamp north of the city was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Buckland Fire & Rescue said they were called to the location on Highway 2 north of Prince Albert yesterday, just before 10:30 am.

Three vehicles responded with seven firefighters and they found an SUV in a swamp when they got there.

RCMP and ambulance had already arrived and one patient was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance.

After speaking with RCMP, Fire Command determined that Fire/Rescue services were not required and stood down the other two responding units.

Crews cleared and returned to the Fire Hall.

Yesterday, Parkland issued a warning that roads were icy but no information has been received that this collision was due to bad roads.

At 9 am on Friday, Highway Hotline showed all roads in the Prince Albert area as snow covered except for Highway 11 towards Saskatoon.
