The Melfort Mustangs are back in the top 10 in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Top 20 rankings.

The Mustangs are number 10 in this week’s rankings, the highest-ranked SJHL team.

Melfort is 8-2 in their last 10 games and have won three straight.

The Mustangs were 3-0 last week, with three one-goal victories. Melfort started with a 3-2 overtime win at home over the Estevan Bruins and followed that up with a 4-3 shootout win Friday night over the Nipawin Hawks. The Mustangs edged Notre Dame 2-1 on Saturday to close out their parent-billet weekend with a victory.

The Mustangs are now 14-4 on the season and will travel to Yorkton Tuesday night to face the Terriers. Melfort then has two games in Kindersley, Friday and Saturday.

The only other SJHL team in the CJHL’s Top 20 is Weyburn, with the Red Wings slipping from 13th to 19th. Yorkton was an honourable mention this week.
