Man stabbed in home on 19th Street East

One man is recovering in hospital and another is facing charges following an aggravated assault overnight.

Prince Albert Police said that the 47-year-old man who was stabbed was taken to hospital by paramedics just before 1 a.m. today with serious injuries.

When officers arrived at the home in the 500 Block of 19th Street East, they found the injured man and were told a suspect had fled the scene.

A 26-year-old man who matched the description of the suspect was found a short distance away and arrested without incident.

After more investigation, officers found the weapon believed to be used in the assault.

The suspect has not been named yet and has been charged with aggravated assault.

Traffic restrictions have been lifted but police remain at the scene.
