Acknowledging he has been in contact with Legal Aid, Laliberte was remanded until Friday morning for a possible bail hearing.

Around 1a.m. on Wednesday, police were called to a home in the 500 Block of 19th Street East.

The victim, a 47-year-old man, was found suffering from serious injuries and transported to hospital.

According to family members who were present in court on Thursday, and who sat in the front row of the gallery to get a good look at the accused, the victim is in hospital in Saskatoon and is in stable but serious condition.

In addition to the aggravated assault charge, it was also discussed in court that Laliberte is alleged to have assaulted a peace officer on July 5.

The other assault charge is from Oct. 19 and also includes an allegation of breach of release.
