Mulawka wins monthly SJHL award as Mustangs climb CJHL top 20 rankings

Some more awards for the Melfort Mustangs as they continue to top the SJHL standings.

Madden Mulawka was named the IKS Media Rookie of the Month in the SJHL.

Mulawka won all four starts in November, and he finished with a sparkling 1.52 goals against average and .938 save percentage.

The Mustangs have moved up to seventh in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings.

Melfort climbs one spot after going undefeated on the week, winning in La Ronge 4-3 on Tuesday, and clobbering Battlefords 8-1 on home ice Friday night to close out the month of November.

The Mustangs have won seven straight games and were 7-1 last month.

Melfort is now 18-4 on the season and they will host Estevan on Wednesday and La Ronge on Friday before heading north to face the Ice Wolves Saturday night.
