A 23-year-old man is facing several charges following an increased police presence in Sucker River last week.

According to an RCMP media release, on Nov. 27 at approximately 7:30 a.m., police received a report of a stolen truck in the La Ronge area. An investigation determined someone broke in to a business, stole a truck and multiple tools, which has since been recovered.

Later that day, officers received a report of a break-and-enter at a residence in Sucker River where two firearms were stolen.

On Nov. 28 at approximately 10:30 a.m., La Ronge RCMP, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, executed a search warrant in Sucker River and seized multiple tools and firearm parts.

As a result, Jesse Forest from the La Ronge area is charged with break-and-enter, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence, failing to comply with release order, mischief, theft under $5,000, and more.

Forest appeared in court in La Ronge and RCMP continues to investigate.
