Stubborn shed fire in Nipawin keeps crews busy

Dec 7, 2024 | 12:44 PM

The Nipawin Fire Department were forced to put out a shed fire in town this week.

They were called to the fire Thursday night on Kingsway Dr.

The shed was fully engulfed in flames by the time they arrived, and the department said on their social media page that the fire was stubborn due to the large fuel load.

Crews also had to maneuver around a downed power line.

The department had to saw and pull apart the walls and floor to find hot spots.

They were on scene for about three hours.

The department thanked their partners, including SaskPower who helped by climbing to isolate the electrical during the fire, and reconnecting power for the residents that morning.
