Winning streak ends for Tisdale Trojans in Prince Albert

Dec 12, 2024 | 10:00 AM

The Tisdale Trojans’ winning streak is over at 10, after a 4-2 road loss to the Prince Albert Mintos.

P.A. stormed out to a 2-0 lead after the first period before Sean Shiels of the Trojans scored the lone goal in the second.

The Mintos made it 3-1 about six minutes into the third period, but Tisdale cut the lead to 3-2 on a powerplay goal by Blake Girard with about eight minutes left.

An empty-net goal by the Mintos sealed the deal.

The Trojans fired 41 shots at Joshua Henry, who kicked aside 39 of them.

Tisdale’s Jackson Dunn made 16 saves.

Prince Albert moves three points up on Tisdale for fourth in the SMAAAHL, but the Trojans have two games in hand.

The Trojans will look to start another winning streak this weekend as they host the Saskatoon Blazers for a pair of games Saturday and Sunday.

Elsewhere in the SMAAAHL, Battlefords doubled up the Contacts 6-3, Moose Jaw beat Regina 5-4, and Estevan edged the Hounds 5-4.
