Clearing of residential streets to start early in new year
Residents tired of driving between frozen ruts on streets will be glad to learn the City of Prince Albert will start grading residential streets early in 2025.
“This time of year, ruts in residential areas can create challenges,” said Geoff Soderberg, Acting Roadways Manager for the City of Prince Albert.
“Grading helps smooth out these ruts, but the trade-off is the formation of windrows—snow piles stored along the sides of the streets—which can narrow roadways. We ask residents to stagger their parked vehicles to ensure safe two-way traffic while we work to improve overall road conditions.”
People can do their part by making sure they are not parked on the street that is to be cleared. Public works staff will put out no parking signs.
