Dec 19, 2024 | 9:19 AM

As Prince Albert Police were responding to a two-vehicle collision in the 3500 Block of 2nd Avenue West on Wednesday evening, they learned that one had just been stolen.

Officers were on regular patrol when they saw the aftermath of the collision and called firefighters and paramedics.

They also learned shortly afterwards that one of the vehicles had just been stolen. The owner had just walked into a business when a 28-year-old female got in and took it.

She drove off at high speed and then collided with another vehicle on 2nd Avenue.

Verna Ross was arrested after first attempting to flee. Now she faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and three counts of breaching probation.

She was remanded into custody until her next court date on December 23.
