Melfort Mustangs ranked second in country at Christmas break

The Melfort Mustangs’ 15-game winning streak has inched them up the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL)’s Top 20 rankings.

The Mustangs are now ranked number two in the nation, thanks to their 26-4-0-0 record.

Melfort is coming off a weekend sweep of the Nipawin Hawks.

The Mustangs look to improve on last season as they fell 1-0 to the Collingwood Blues in the Centennial Cup final a season ago.

The Blues are currently ranked ninth in the nation.

The Greater Sudbury Cubs of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League take over the top spot in the country with their 27-2-1-1 record.

The SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers enter the rankings at number 19.
