Teenage boy admits to stealing gun from known gang house and trying to sell it for money
Referring to the events that unfolded on July 15, 2024, a Prince Albert judge told a 14-year-old boy he made a number dangerous choices that day, not the least of which was stealing a gun from a known gang house and then attempting to sell it to make some money.
Surrounded in court Friday morning by family members, the boy’s lawyer entered a guilty plea to possession of a sawed off .22 rifle and he received nine months probation.
According to the agreed statement of facts read by Crown Prosecutor Cam Scott, the boy’s family, who were very concerned about his safety, were the ones to go out and find him, then alerted police before any harm came to him.
The “trap house”, located in Prince Albert’s west side, was described as having guns lying everywhere and there were numerous bullet holes.
