Sask Parks registration dates announced

With the coldest day of the winter making itself known, the dream of spring has sprouted some happy news: Saskatchewan Parks has announced the reservation schedule for the 2025 camping season.

Starting April 7 at 7 a.m. each day, campers and outdoors enthusiasts will be able to reserve sites for access all of the parks that have seasonal campsites. For those sites that are looking forward to the nightly, day-use, Camp-Easy yurt and group sites, the dates are as follows:

April 8: Candle Lake, Good Spirit Lake, Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan Landing;

April 9: Break

April 10: Buffalo Pound, Bronson Forest, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain, Porcupine Hills;

April 11: Danielson, Great Blue Heron, Greenwater Lake, Rowan’s Ravine, The Battlefords;

April 14: Douglas, Echo Valley, Makwa Lake, Narrow Hills, Pike Lake; and

April 15: Blackstrap, Fort Carlton, Crooked Lake, Cypress Hills, Lac La Ronge.

According to a release, this year 63 seasonal sites have been added for Buffalo Pound, Candle Lake, Crooked Lake, Great Blue Heron, Makwa and Meadow Lake Provincial Parks and an additional two Camp-Easy yurts have also been added at Rowan’s Ravine Provincial Park.

2025 will also bring an increase in fees to help with updates to the facilities, support environmental protection initiatives, and infrastructure.

This year, the increases are as follows: nightly full service: $49 ($5 increase)

Nightly electric: $35 ($2 increase)

Seasonal full service: $3,800 ($400 increase)

Seasonal electric: $2,900 ($300 increase) and

Group camping: will range from $92 – $260 ($20 increase)

Meanwhile, economy sites, non-electric sites, permits, swimming lessons and day-use spaces won’t see increases this season and firewood will once again be free.

For those planning to visit the parks for events, along with old fan favourites like Summer Cinema, Back in the Boreal at Meadow Lake, Trade Days at Fort Carlton, Cannington Fair at Cannington Manor and Cabin Fever Art Festival at Moose Mountain will return for another season, a lineup of new events including Festival in the Forest at Meadow Lake, Prairie Day at Buffalo Pound and new guided hiking events such as Hike the Heights at Cypress Hills and Into the Pines at Candle Lake is expected to make their debut.
