Jan 21, 2025 | 5:22 PM

Prince Albert police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle.

It happened on Tuesday in the 1100 block of 15th St. W. and the initial call for help was received at approximately 3:07 a.m.

Officers were dispatched at 3:33 a.m. and were on scene at 3:38 a.m.

“The suspect was gone upon police arrival; however, after further investigation, officers learned the victim parked his vehicle in the garage of his residence and went inside before the suspect allegedly entered the garage and drove away in the vehicle,” police said in a statement.

According to a social media post, the elderly victim went to a neighbour’s house for help and they in turn helped him rent a vehicle to get to appointments and cancel cards as his wallet and phone were in the vehicle that was taken.

In 2024, 323 vehicle thefts were reported to Prince Albert Police Service. This was down from 495 reported in 2023.
