The Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame has announced its newest inductees.

During a press conference at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday morning, it was revealed that the Hall will welcome nine new members later this year, including three athletes, three builders, one for Meritorious Service, and two teams.

The Class of 2025 will feature Lonny Akers, Elizabeth (Hudon) Tenaski, and Frank Dunn in the athlete category, Tom Brothwell, Rene Quintal, and Brent Zbaraschuk in the builders category, Roger Mayert for meritorious service, and both the 1984-87 Birch Hills Marauders boys basketball teams and the 1975-78 Meath Park Mustangs six-man football teams in the teams category.

Additionally, the Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association is being recognized as the Organization of the Year.

To make room for the Class of 2025 in the Hall, the organization will be removing the portraits from the Class of 2010 and returning them to the inductees, their families, or the respective organization. That class featured athletes Gary Brandon and Darlene Selander, builder Dale Regel, athlete/builder Ellen (Wilkins) Grewcock, Bob Smisko for meritorious service, and the 1985/1986 Prince Albert Junior B North Stars and 1950 Prince Albert Blue Jays Softball team in the teams category.

The 33rd Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame Induction Banquet is set for Saturday, May 3 in the Ches Leach Lounge at the Art Hauser Centre.
