The Prince Albert Timberjaks are front and centre in this year’s Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL) awards.

The winners were announced on Monday where Timberjaks assistant captain Keethan Isbister was awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player, while Jaks’ rookie Brody Anderson was named the Graham Christie Memorial Rookie of the Year.

As of Wednesday, Isbister co-leads the league in points with 65 on the year, scoring 31 goals and collecting 34 assists in 31 games while adding 30 penalty minutes. The 19-year-old First team All-Star also sits among the league leaders in powerplay points with 22. Despite averaging 2.1 points per game, Isbister has been held scoreless in just two games this season with his highest scoring game coming on Jan. 3 when he tallied six points (2G-4A) in a 7-2 win over the Carrot River Outback Thunder. Across two seasons with the Jaks, the P.A.-born forward has accumulated 110 career points (54G-56A) in just 68 career games.

Meanwhile, Anderson has been turning heads as one of the best rookies across the league. The Shellbrook native was a Bob Dybvig All-Star in his first year at the Jr. B level, eclipsing the 20-goal mark while adding 16 assists for 36 points in 31 games so far. Across the league, the 17-year-old sits third in rookie scoring behind Saskatoon Royals’ Spencer Chestolowski (41 points) and Pilot Butte Storm Jaxon Skiftun (38 points). Just as impressive, Anderson has six three-point games this season.
