A first-time MLA is looking forward to learning more about the process ahead of the spring session.

Carrot River Valley MLA Terri Bromm had a brief opportunity to get her feet wet in Regina during the short two-week fall session in the Legislature.

She was elected in October’s provincial election, replacing long-time SaskParty MLA Fred Bradshaw who chose to retire.

“There is a lot to learn, and it’s been extremely busy for these last few weeks of the Legislature during the session,” Bromm told northeastNOW. “Immersing myself in figuring that out, familiarizing myself with the process.”

Bromm is excited about representing the constituents of Carrot River Valley while in Regina. Her new MLA office is in Tisdale, and Bromm said she’s happy to meet with people when she’s in the area.

The new MLA is proud of what the SaskParty government was able to accomplish in the shortened fall session, including the Saskatchewan Affordability Act, the SaskEnergy (Carbon Tax Fairness for Families) Amendment Act, and the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) Act.

“I think that they were really good things for us to get accomplished within that shorter session,” Bromm said.

She added she is looking forward to the spring session and continuing to learn about how she can best help her constituents going forward.

Bromm also wishes everyone a safe and prosperous 2025.
