MLBEX award winners celebrated by community

Award winners celebrated with friends, family and the community during the Meadow Lake Business Excellence Awards (MLBEX), hosted by the Chamber of Commerce Friday night.

Among the winners were Shelley Arnold, Joanne Carter and Ed and Val Richter who received the ‘Community Builder’ award.

After being nominated in five different categories, The Gulp, located in Pineridge Ford Place Arena, took home the MLBEX award for best ‘New Business.’ In a post on their Facebook page, The Gulp said they are thrilled.

“We’re completely overwhelmed with gratitude and can’t thank our amazing customers, team, and community enough for your unwavering support,” the post read. “This award isn’t just a recognition of our business, it’s a testament to the power of community and the impact that small businesses can have. Thank you again to everyone who has supported us on this journey! We’re honored and humbled to receive this award.”

The ‘Young Business Leader of the Year’ award went to Aden Wilson of Aden Wilson Financial Services Inc.

On social media he said, “I am grateful that I get to call Meadow Lake home and share my passion with so many of you in our community. This award is not just a recognition of what we’ve achieved, but a reminder of the responsibility we have to keep pushing boundaries and making a positive impact in Meadow Lake. It’s a reminder that as young leaders, we have the power to shape the future, innovate and inspire others to do the same.”

The District 36 4-H Club was named the ‘Non-Profit/Organization of the Year.’

  • Small Business of the Year: Abundant Living
  • Large Business of the Year: High Octane Welding
  • “Roots of Hope” – Workplace Mental Health Award: Wireless Age
  • Customer Service Award: Lori Bundschuh
