Battlefords proved no mission is impossible.

The laparoscopic towers have arrived at Battlefords Union Hospital after the “Mission Possible” raised funds in record time.

The campaign, which raised over $400,000 through the On-Air for Healthcare Radiothon and other fundraising efforts last year has now realized the dream of bringing state-of-the-art equipment to the operating room.

“These advanced laparoscopic towers will enhance precision, reduce recovery times, and improve patient outcomes, bringing the highest standard of care to our region,” said Chris Etcheverry, Director of Acute Care NW – Battlefords Union Hospital in a press release.

“The timing of this arrival couldn’t be more crucial, as demand for minimally invasive surgeries continues to grow. These towers are already transforming the way procedures are performed at BUH, ensuring that patients receive the best care, close to home.”

According to the release, the towers, which allow surgical teams to work in a less invasive manner and contribute to faster healing, came at a price tag of roughly $530,000.

“We cannot thank our donors enough,” added Leanne Ducommun, executive director of the Battlefords Healthcare Foundation in the release.

“Every contribution — big or small — played a role in making this a reality. Because of you, lives will be changed for the better.”
