Not so sweet assailant throws candy at store staff

Mar 7, 2025 | 10:40 AM

A suspect who pushed one staff member and threw candy at another is being sought by Prince Albert Police.

Officers were called to two assaults at two businesses Thursday morning on 2nd Avenue West.

In the first incident, police responded at 8 a.m. to a business in the 3400 block for a reported assault.

The male suspect went into the business and began causing a disturbance, so he was asked to leave. He then pushed one of the workers and threw candy at another before running away.

No one was injured. He was wearing black pants and jacket and a black bandana.

While officers were looking for him, they got a second report from a business in the 2900 block having issues with a man who matched the description from the first incident.

Staff reported he had come into the business and began causing a disturbance and threatening the workers, so they asked him to leave.

He then brandished a pair of scissors and made some stabbing motions before running away again.

Officers continued to search the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful in locating him.

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222, or in an emergency, 9-1-1. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
