La Ronge RCMP seize eight ounces of crack cocaine

Two people are facing charges after a drug bust on Monday.

According to an RCMP media release, just after midnight on March 10, an officer observed a running vehicle parked in the Bigstone Landing area. There were two individuals inside the vehicle and police approached them to check their well-being.

They observed open alcohol and a baggie of what appeared to be drugs in plain view in the vehicle.

The occupants were arrested, and during a subsequent investigation, officers located and seized approximately 232 grams of crack cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

Wolfgang McKenzie, 37, and Tanya Charles, 36, both from La Ronge, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
