A Lloydminster man is facing 10 drug and weapons charges after an ongoing investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP.

Police say officers with the Lloydminster Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) arrested the 56-year-old man during a traffic stop in the city on Monday, March 10 around 6:30 p.m.

A search of the vehicle and the man turned up 9.2 grams of methamphetamine, 3.1 grams of fentanyl, 1.7 grams of cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, pepper spray, ammunition and magazines.

RCMP later searched a recreational vehicle in Waseca, Sask., where they say more evidence was found.

After further investigation, the man is now charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, six counts of weapons possession contrary to an order and one count of unsafe storage of ammunition.

The investigation involved the Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team, Maidstone RCMP and Lloydminster RCMP.

He appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 11.
