WATCH: P.A. Skating Club athletes ‘shake it off’ one last time in final show of season

The Art Hauser Centre was rocking on Sunday afternoon for the Prince Albert Skating Club’s Year End Ice Show.

All 200+ skaters with the club participated in this year’s wind-up with the theme being ‘Eras on Ice’, a Taylor Swift themed show where all performances were done to songs from her discography.

The performers ranged from kids in preschool to adults, and even seniors.

This season’s Year End Ice Show also featured some special guests in Prince Albert’s Stefan Lotz and his partner Abigail Haas, who have competed together on both the provincial and national stage. More recently, the two placed fifth in Pre-Novice Pairs at the 2025 Skate Canada Trophy in Edmonton last month.

“It is absolutely amazing to have them here today,” said organizer Renee Merasty.

“Nobody has really seen them [perform] in person up until today, so this was a big thing for the club to have them come and perform for us.”

This season also saw Lotz, 18, and Haas, 13, win gold together in Pre-Novice Pairs at the 2025 Skate Saskatchewan Sectionals in Humboldt, while Lotz also took home first in the Junior Men category at the same competition.

Merasty said Lotz is no longer in Prince Albert as he moved to Regina so he can practice more frequently with Haas.

“We missed him this year since he’s in Regina, but it was nice to have him back this weekend.”
