Prince Albert Police investigating after dog shot in yard

Mar 25, 2025 | 5:06 PM

A seven-year-old Alaskan Malamute is expected to recover after getting shot in the shoulder.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon in the city’s East Hill area while the dog was in a yard with a six-foot high fence surrounding it.

The owner, who was visibly shaken by what had transpired, told paNOW their dog is very mild mannered and the incident appears random in nature.

They also noted the veterinarian was unable to get the bullet out, so it is still lodged between her shoulder blades.

“Misha” has returned home to her family. (Submitted)

In the meantime, police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect whose image was captured by security cameras.

Anyone who has information, can contact police at (306) 953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
