Sharks ready to attack in final game of championship series
After spitting the first two games of the Sask. Female U18 AAA Hockey League finals (SFU18AAAHL), the Battlefords Sharks are getting ready to try and seal the deal at home for their first ever league title on Saturday, March 29th in the third and final game of the series against the Saskatoon Stars.
Looking back to the first two games, the Sharks got shut out in Game 1 at the Battleford Arena 3-0 but then had a big bounce back in Game 2 at the Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon, winning 2-1 to tie the series.
Despite the loss in Game 1, Sharks Head Coach Nolan Horbach said that he thought the team played well and it was just a matter of cleaning up the details for Game 2.
“We knew we did a lot of good things right in the first game and we just kind of looked to clean up a few little things, like our play away from the puck and how we can keep the play going as opposed to maybe killing it… So, I thought we did a good job of that, and we did a pretty good job of limiting their chances as well and some girls made some huge blocks and key plays at certain times to preserve the win,” he said.
