‘We will not hesitate to act’: police lay charges in connection to drive-by shooting

Three people are facing attempted murder charges following a drive by shooting last week in Prince Albert.

It happened on March 23 in the 1200 Block of 16th St. W. At the time, responding officers found a woman who had injuries consistent with gun shot wounds. She was taken to hospital. Multiple bullet holes were also found in a white sedan, along with bullet casings.

The white truck believed to be involved in the shooting was located at a home south of Prince albert two days later. Then, on March 27, one of the three suspects, 25-year old Brianna Forest, was arrested in the 1600 Block of 15th St. W.

As part of the investigations, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 700 Block of 12th Street West on March 28. The Prince Albert Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT), patrol, crisis negotiators, scribes, and members of the Saskatchewan Emergency Response Team were involved in the effort that resulted in a total of 10 people being arrested from the residence.

Members of the Prince Albert Police Crime Reduction Team (CRT) searched the home and seized a sawed off Remington model 788, two handguns and a Binelli shotgun, assorted ammunition, and drug trafficking paraphernalia along with cocaine and cash. Clothing items worn on the date of the shooting were also recovered.

Forest, along with 32-year old Craig McDonald and 31-year old Shelby Pinnell have been charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent, and other weapons related charges. McDonald is facing additional charges related to drug trafficking.

Our police service will continue to utilize every available resource and investigative tool to pursue those who choose to disrupt the peace and well-being of our city. We want to reassure the public that we will not hesitate to act when the safety of our community is threatened,” said Chief Patrick Nogier.

A fourth person, a 24-year old man, is also facing multiple firearms charges, however, the police service has not yet released his name.
