Woman attacked and stabbed by stranger: Prince Albert Police

A 46-year-old woman is recovering after she was attacked and stabbed by a stranger.

The incident late Friday night in the 500 block of Ninth Street East.

At approximately 11:50 p.m, members of the Prince Albert Police Service were dispatched for a weapons call.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and located the victim with injuries consistent with a stabbing. The victim was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed the victim was walking when she was approached by an unknown female; a short verbal exchange occurred and the suspect was asked to leave the victim alone.

A physical altercation then occurred where the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as female, between the ages of 20 to 30, who wore a black jacket, and black and white pants at the time of the incident. Officers on scene located and seized a knife.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact police directly or Crime Stoppers.
