Hildebrand named WHL first team All Star
It should come as no surprise, but Raiders 20-year-old goaltender Max Hildebrand has been named as part of the first team All Star Team in the WHL.
When it comes to the stats, it should come as no surprise that Hildebrand was named to the first All Star Team. He lead the league in games played (55), minutes played (3,181), shots faced (1,865), saves made (1,713), and his save percentage of 0.918 through 55 games in the regular season was good enough for second in the WHL behind a goaltender who had played 32 less games.
“He’s our rock back there,” said Raiders Interim Head Coach Ryan McDonald. “The work that he puts in day in and day out in the four years I’ve had the pleasure of being with him, his work ethic is second to none. He’s an absolute joy to be around every single day, a tremendous teammate, a tremendous leader, and just a tremendous person.”
He finished near the top of the league in a number of other areas too. His 33 wins were one shy of the top spot in the league, and his three shutouts on the season have him in a four way tie for fourth most in the league.
