Raiders tailgate set to fire up the Art Hauser Centre

With their backs against the wall 3-1 in their series with the Edmonton Oil Kings, the Prince Albert Raiders are expecting the best fans in the league to be out in full flight Friday night for a pivotal Game 5. To start things off, the Raiders are hosting a tailgate party put on by Lake Country Co-op starting at 5pm with burgers and a drink for only $5.

Also as part of the action, the Raiders will be donating a portion of the 50/50 sales towards the Adam Herold Legacy Foundation to honour Green Shirt Day on Sunday, April 6th.

If you were to look up the stats for the most attendance in the WHL through the 2024-25 season, you’d see the Prince Albert Raiders near the bottom of the list with an average attendance of 2,527 people per game.

What those numbers don’t tell you is that on average, the Raiders fill 75.1% of the Art Hauser Centre for an average game during the regular season, which is the fourth highest percentage in the league behind Everett, Seattle, and the smallest rink in the league in Swift Current.

That average of 2,527 fans per game in the Art Hauser Centre also works out to about 7% of the entire community coming together to watch their Raiders play each and every night.

The most passionate fans in the WHL were out in full force for the first two games of the series, bumping that average attendance up to 2,834 in the first two games. If the Raiders win Friday night, they’ll need to win again on Sunday in Edmonton to give their fans a Game 7 to cheer the Raiders on in once again.
