Prince Albert youth charged after weapons found during Saskatoon traffic stop

A 17-year-old boy from Prince Albert and a 23-year-old woman from Sturgeon Lake First Nation are among four people facing charges after a traffic stop in Saskatoon that resulted in the seizure of numerous weapons.

On Sunday, at 10:30 p.m., officers observed a suspicious vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted near 22nd Street West and Diefenbaker Drive.

Four occupants were observed inside the vehicle and a rear passenger was observed attempting to conceal a firearm.

All four individuals were subsequently arrested. Police located and seized a rifle and ammunition, as well as two machetes, bear spray and brass knuckles.

A man and a woman from Saskatoon were also charged.

The youth from Prince Albert is facing a number of firearm-related offences and also breach of release.

The woman from Sturgeon Lake First Nation is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
