Nominations open for 31st Battlefords Business Excellence Awards

It is that time of the year when the 2025 Battlefords Business Excellence (BBEX) Awards starts accepting public nominations.

The BBEX Awards committee, in partnership with the Battlefords and District Chamber of Commerce and title sponsor Gold Eagle Casino, recently announced the opening of this year’s nomination period. The deadline to submit nominations is June 19 at midnight, with final application kits due by July 24.

Now in its 31st year, the awards program recognizes vision, generosity, innovation and resilience in the local business community — particularly in the wake of the pandemic, workforce shortages and ongoing supply chain challenges.

“It is always so great to celebrate the business community, see them come together and receive recognition for their contributions and hard work,” BBEX Committee co-chair Samantha Weber said.

The committee has retained the same award categories introduced in 2022. This year, the Heather Guthrie Customer Service Star Award will spotlight a business owner or entrepreneur, as the award alternates focus annually between employees and owners.

Categories include:

• New Business Venture Award
• Community Contribution Award
• Heather Guthrie Customer Service Star Award (Business Owner / Entrepreneur)
• Agriculture and Agri-Business Award
• Young Entrepreneur Award
• Micro Business Award
• Member’s Choice Award
• Impact Award
• Business of the Year
• Heritage Award

A full banquet and celebration gala is scheduled for Nov. 6 in North Battleford.

Public nominations can be submitted online at www.battlefordschamber.com by clicking the “Celebrating 31 Years BBEX Business Excellence” logo. Once a nomination is received, nominees will be contacted to complete a full application.
