Local artist Nige B to release new hip hop album on Friday

A local rapper from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is set to drop a new album this weekend.

Nigel Bell, who performs under the stage name Nige B, is set to release another project on Friday called Reshape // Refashion. The album is his fifth in as many years, after he released Circa 1990 in 2021, In Retrospect in 2022, U R What U R in 2023, and U R What U R – Vol. 2 in 2024.

Bell explained that the record is all about self-improvement, growth, evolution, coming from nothing and learning to adapt, transformation, and pushing forward.

He calls it a deeply personal and powerful project that reflects the changes he’s made in his life and artistry, and audiences will be able to hear the increased production value and overall vision.

“The production is more clear and more interesting,” Bell noted, adding he took time away from work to produce the album.

“Overall, it’s a big shift. The artists who I worked with on here, it’s crazy how they were all on the same page. It felt like these songs just wrote themselves.”

One of the biggest highlights for Bell was working with one of his all-time favourite artists, Coletta, on the track My Body, which also features Rezcoast Grizz and Dubbygotbars.

“When I reached out to him and sent him the instrumental, he was on board, and it kind of blew my mind,” Bell remarked.

“The whole collaboration was just insane. I’m super proud of that track. It’s got to be one of my favourite tracks on the whole record, because it’s not every day you get to work with one of your all-time favourite artists, and it just feels like a dream come true for me.”

Bell is a Woodland Cree artist whose voice, vision, and message continues to break boundaries across the music industry. With a sound rooted in resilience, identity, and truth, he blends contemporary hip-hop, soul, and alternative influences with powerful storytelling that reflects both personal growth and collective healing.

Bell has received more than 30 music award nominations across Canada and the United States, earning six prestigious wins to date. In addition to the five albums he’s released under the name Nige B, he also dropped two others under the name Velcro Stories.

Reshape // Refashion will be available on all major platforms on April 18.
