UPDATED: Increased police presence at Sturgeon Lake

Prince Albert RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle involved in a firearm incident on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report of multiple individuals in vehicles discharging firearms at each other on the First Nation located about 30 minutes northwest of Prince Albert.

Officers responded immediately and located an abandoned vehicle believed to be involved: a white four-door truck with a black tailgate. The suspects have not yet been located.

RCMP are looking for a second vehicle believed to be involved. It is a black two-door truck.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police by calling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

The investigation continues.

RCMP are warning people near the Sturgeon Lake First Nation north of Prince Albert of increased police activity.

The alert says there was a gun-related incident and asks people to avoid the areas where officers are and follow any direction provided.

More information will be provided as soon as possible and no imminent risk to the public is known at the moment.
