UPDATED: Woman wanted on assault charge arrested in Île-à-la-Crosse

RCMP said that they arrested Kristen Opikokew on April 23 at a home in Île-à-la-Crosse.

The 40-year-old was wanted for assault in relation to an incident that happened in November 2024.

She is scheduled to appear in an Île-à-la-Crosse courtroom on June 25.

Mounties are asking for the public’s help in locating a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with an assault investigation.

Kristen Opikokew, 40, is wanted by Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP after being charged with assault in relation to an incident that occurred in November 2024.

Officers say she is known to travel to several communities, including Île-à-la-Crosse, Meadow Lake, and Canoe Lake in Saskatchewan, as well as Fort McMurray, Alta.

She is described as 5-8 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

RCMP urge anyone who sees Opikokew not to approach her, and to report any sightings or information to their local police detachment or by calling 310-RCMP. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.

The investigation is ongoing.
