Woman charged after East Flat gun incident

Apr 23, 2025 | 10:19 AM

A 30-year-old woman is facing multiple firearms related offences following an incident in Prince Albert’s East Flat area Monday afternoon.

At around 4:45 p.m. police were called to the 900 block of Seventh Street East for a weapons complaint. Initial information stated there was a woman with a gun outside a residence. Another call came in shortly after stating two women with guns were attempting to break into a residence.

Police quickly responded to the area and learned the suspect had entered one of the suites.

Officers set up on both sides of the residence and prior to entry to the suite, an injured male exited the residence. He was treated by Parkland Ambulance and transported to hospital. Police entered the residence and detained five people for a weapons investigation.

A firearm was also located inside the residence. Officers then learned one of the females, a 37-year-old woman, had outstanding warrants for her arrest; she was then arrested. Another 30-year-old woman matched the description of the female suspect from the initial call for service and upon further investigation, she was found to have ammunition on her person.

Blair Ballantyne appeared in court Tuesday and was remanded to April 25.
