Fire crews are staying busy this Saturday as a pair of large grass fires were sparked both north and south of Prince Albert.

One of those fires is burning on Wahpeton Dakota Nation and is threatening homes both near and on the reserve.

Although not much is known at this time, crews were seen tackling the blaze from the air using helicopters and air tankers.

The second fire is burning along Highway 11, near Redhead Equipment.

The P.A. Fire Department was seen battling the blaze while Prince Albert Police were helping control the scene as the fire is producing large plumes of smoke and is disrupting the flow of traffic in either direction.

The blaze began along the north bound lanes of the highway and has since crossed the ditch and is now burning on either side.

At this time, it is unknown how either fire started.
