Apr 28, 2025 | 8:49 AM

Today’s the day to make your voice heard.

Canada’s 45th general election runs today and on Battlefords—Lloydminster—Meadow Lake, all eyes will be on candidates, Rose Marie Falk for the Conservatives, Larry Ingram for the Liberals, Darrell Patan for the Candian Future Party and William Petryk for the NDP.

Incumbent Conservative MP Rosemarie Falk will be looking to keep her seat, which she has occupied since 2017.

Advance polls opened over Easter weekend and early numbers for the riding indicate 13,345 votes were cast.

Since the riding boundaries have changed, there aren’t any compatibles but province-wide, 206, 655 votes have been cast in advanced polls, marking a 25 per cent increase from 2021 in the Battlefords—Lloydminster—Meadow riding, known to be a Conservative stronghold.

As of March. 25, there were over 800,000 registered electors across the province. As of midnight last night, 27,753 people have returned their special ballots and 2,131 voting on campus.

Weren’t able to get out and cast your vote? No problem: polls are open today from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Don’t forget to bring one piece of government issued identification such as a driver’s license. If you don’t have ID, you can still vote if you declare your identity and address in writing and have someone who knows you and who is assigned to your polling station vouch for you.
