Meadow Lake Golf Club opens with fresh greens and league nights

With rolling hills, fresh greens and the smell of spring in the air, the Meadow Lake Golf Club is officially open for the 2025 season — and staff say the course is ready for golfers to show off their skills.

“Everything looks incredible. A little dry out there, but the greens look beautiful,” said Brent Assman, pro shop manager at the club.

Located just south of Meadow Lake Provincial Park, he said the 18-hole course is described by many as a ‘hidden gem,’ offering a mix of terrain that keeps each round fresh and engaging.

“The back nine is mature, well treated and the front nine has water, plenty of sand and large rolling hills and an abundance of newly planted trees,” said Assman.

“It’s challenging but fair.”

Serving as one of the few golf destinations in the northwest region, Meadow Lake’s course attracts not only locals but also travellers heading to nearby lakes and campgrounds.

“Anybody that comes up to the Meadow Lake area, basically heading for the lakes, camping and just the basic lake season, finds out we have a beautiful golf course,” Assman said.

“We’ve had people come through from all over Saskatchewan that basically have claimed they will be back again because they enjoyed their rounds so much.”

This season, players can look forward to a full calendar of social events, including men’s, ladies’ and couples’ league nights held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

“It gives people a special night to come out. A lot of camaraderie and people get a chance to visit with their friends that they don’t get to see during the week,” he said. “We usually have some interesting games and prizes for everyone.”

The season will run until the end of September, anyone interested in joining can register in person at the course, call (306) 236-6388 or email mlgc04@sasktel.net.

“Can’t wait to see the people come out,” said Assman.
