Fire ban issued in RM of Battle River #438

A fire ban is now in effect for the Rural Municipality of Battle River No. 438.

The RM announced Wednesday that the fire ban is in place immediately and will remain until further notice.

According to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), fireworks, firecrackers and sky lanterns are not allowed during a fire ban as they pose a significant fire risk. Also, even though smoking is not prohibited, it says visitors and residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution to help prevent wildfires.
