Stolen vehicle, suspect found in RM of Prince Albert

A 23-year-old man is in police custody after a truck was stolen from within the City of Prince Albert and abandoned on a grid road in the RM after it rammed another vehicle.

RCMP officers were asked on April 29 at about 2 a.m. to watch for a stolen vehicle, and received a follow-up call about an hour later after the stolen vehicle rammed another one when it approached on the road.

The suspect driver got out of the vehicle and ran into the nearby forested area. No one was injured in the collision.

The area was contained, and the RCMP Police Dog Service and a drone were used to find the suspect, who was hiding in an RV in a nearby yard.

The 23-year-old man from Big River was arrested and now faces multiple charges of failing to comply with a release order, assault with a weapon, possession of stolen property and mischief.
