Dry conditions prompt fire ban in R.M. of North Battleford No. 437

A fire ban is now in effect for the R.M. of North Battleford No. 437 due to increasingly dry conditions.
Fire Chief Aaron McNabb issued the ban Friday, saying no new burning permits will be granted until further notice.
As of this publication, Environment Canada reports a humidity level of 31 per cent in the North Battleford area.
The municipality is asking residents to avoid lighting open burning barrels or garbage pits. However, the use of fire pits and incinerators remains permitted under the current restrictions.
