RCMP investigating suspicious death on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation

Loon Lake RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation on April 25, 2025.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female who was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 34-year-old member of the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. Her family has been notified and her identity will not be released at this time.

The Saskatchewan RCMP in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have launched an investigation into the circumstances of her death. The death has been determined to be suspicious in nature.
